Giving at St Andrew’s

As part of our worship to God we love to give financially to the church and through this support the ministry and mission of St Andrew's, the wider community and world. We believe that giving is one opportunity to be part of what God is doing through the local church and we see it as a response to the love and grace God has given to us.

The local church is not government or externally funded and the majority of our resources come from within our church family. This means that most of what is made possible at St Andrew’s comes through generous giving within our church family.

We are always happy to chat with you about how best to give and we aim to be transparent and clear with how your money is used to support the ministry and mission of the church. Thank you for your generosity, please know that it really makes a difference.

Here are some different ways you can give to St Andrew’s

Parish Giving Scheme logo gXps

PGS is a simple and secure way to give monthly, quarterly or annually by Direct Debit.  There is also an option to give a one-off gift. PGS is easy to manage, flexible and has benefits for the giver and the church. There is the option to have your giving adjusted with inflation and PGS manages Gift Aid on behalf of the church.

Regular giving in this way helps the finance team and PCC steward our finances well throughout the year.We would love you consider giving in this way.

This is a Church of England supported page and your giving goes directly to St Andrew's with minimal transaction fees  If you would like to give in this way, please click through to our page here and use the secure online payments system and Gift Aid option.

Direct Banking

Standing order ref:  inital+surname (eg 'Asmith/StA')

BACS Transfer

OR restriction (eg ‘Flowers’) if it should only be used for that purpose.

Gift Aid

Please download a Gift Aid Declaration Form here.
Gift Aid is a government scheme which lets us claim an extra 25p for every £1 you give.
It does not cost you anything extra to sign up to Gift Aid. This is because as a UK taxpayer you have already paid tax on the money you’re donating.
Once we receive your donation, we get the tax you originally paid back from HMRC to top up the donation.
You can Gift Aid if:
  • you're a UK taxpayer
  • you are donating your own money
  • the tax you pay that year is at least equal to all your donations to any charity.
If circumstances change and you no longer pay enough tax, it’s important to tell us so we can stop claiming Gift Aid on your donations. Otherwise, you’ll need to pay any difference back to HMRC.

Giving TabletDuring a Service

There is opportunity to bring your offering during a Sunday Service. You can either use your card or put your gift in a giving envelope.
These both offer the opportunity for you to include Gift Aid.

Anonymous giving

The church is able to claim Gift Aid on anonymous cash and contactless donations for amounts under £30.
If you wish to give over £30 anonymously but want the church to be able to claim Gift Aid, then this can only be achieved using the Parish Giving Scheme.
All other donations are seen by the treasurer and communicated to the PCC in anonymised aggregate form (eg stating the number of members of the congregation who give via PGS and the total amount given).

Nearest tube station: Archway

Free on street parking is available around the building on weekends and evenings

Sunday Service start at 10.30am. For would encourage you to arrive 5-10 minutes early to ensure you  find somewhere to sit before the service begins. When you arrive, you should be greeted by someone on our Welcome Team who will help you feel at home.

Accessibility: There is wheelchair access for anyone who needs it. There are disabled toilets off the main hall.

Our Service

The main service begins with a welcome from one of our service leaders. This is followed by a time of sung worship, led by our band with a mix of songs and hymns. We typically have 2 or 3 songs, often including an action song that the children help lead. We then share news and notices, usually about what’s going on in the life of the church. One of our team will then give a talk that is bible based and that we can apply to our everyday life. This is followed by some led prayers. We then finish with a final worship song. Sometimes there is an opportunity to receive prayer at the end of the service.
We have a mix of prayer and informal liturgy throughout the service and share communion together on the 2nd & 4th Sunday in the month

What about my kids?

We have a great programme lined up for kids of all ages:

  • Creche (0 months to 3 years). Our creche room is an unsupervised space where parents can be. A live video link is available so you can join in with the service and toys are provided for toddlers.
  •  Kids Church (4-10 years) A fun mix of Bible stories, games, craft and prayer. Children can be dropped off with our dedicated kids team.
  •  Youth Church (11+ years) This groups is ideal of secondary aged children and is an opportunity to explore the scriptures in a fun and relevant way, through questions, interactive bible study and discussion.

Children stay with their parent or grown-up at the start of the service as we worship (sing songs), together for the first part of the morning. After we have shared the peace together we announce that it’s time for the younger members to go to their various groups. You will need to go with your children to their groups and register them as part of our child safety policy.

The kids group activities vary depending on the age but usually there is a friendly welcome, bible stories, praying, craft, fun games and free play. Children are collected as soon as the service finishes.

Getting Connected

Sundays is just one expression of our. church life. There are other ways to get connected

Life Groups

While Sundays are a great way to meet new people, it is often in smaller gatherings that you can really get to know someone. Being part of one of our life groups allows you to make new friends, share together and support each other. We have a couple of groups that meet throughout the week, with some happening online. Check out Life Groups and see if there’s one that you could join, or we can put you in touch with a small group leader who will be more than happy to invite you along to their group.

We regularly run a couple of courses that helps people explore faith and grow in their relationship with God:
The Alpha Course is an opportunity to explore the meaning of life.
The Prayer Course is an opportunity to go deeper in your relaitonship with God.

Serving and Volunteering

If you want to get involved in the life of the church and help us make Sundays run smoothly, you can sign up to serve on a team.

Other Ministries

We also run the following ministries:

  • Night Shelter
  • Hand-In-Hand (Refugee welcome & english classes)
  • St Andrew's Meals
