The aim of this building project is to transform the north west end of our building. The space currently homes a small kitchen, male/female toilet block and storage room.
The redevelopment plan includes moving and expanding the kitchen, replacing and expanding the male/female toilets and shower, adding accessible facilities and a meeting/office space.
The kitchen- A brand new kitchen will be built with serving hatches and doors into both the hall and worship space. The kitchen will be a semi-commercial facility and include all the amenities’ and storage for the ministries we host and enable us to expand our hospitality as a church and to the wider community.
Toilets- A new accessible toilet will be built that will also house shower and baby change facilities. This section will also include 3 new unisex toilet cubicles with separate wash facilities in each.
Meeting room- the far west end will be transformed into a new meeting/office space.
The Diocesan Advisory Committee have recommended this scheme for faculty approval and the petition for a faculty has been publicly displayed for the 28-day period. This can be viewed on the front door of St Andrew’s or here.
The two tender quotes we received were outside our initial budget, therefore the plans below are the latest reworkings to fit within a more realistic budget, whilst not compromising the original vision of the project.
Please contact email@example.com to view the complete documents. You can see the latest plans below.
Our current cash status is £190k, 2 legacies and this year’s Gift Day, which brought in £23k.
The Diocese recommend keeping 2 months of your annual budget in reserves, which seems wise in these unpredictable days, also taking into account income loses as a result of COVID.
This would give us with £157k cash for the project.
We received some encouraging news last week, a few days after deciding the above. We have received a bequeathment of £10,000 from Elsie and John Feltham who were active members of St Andrew’s until 1955! We are so grateful for this and the other gifts we have received.
Last Novembers Gift Day was such and encouragement and has put us in a strong position to move forwards. The PCC feel very strongly that this is the best opportunity to complete this project. We would love to be able to reopen the building for worship and community gatherings with these incredible new facilities, which could be such a blessing as restrictions are lifted. We also don’t want to delay and find that our building needs to remain closed at the opportune time to be open.
Pray and Give
We would love you to pray for God’s wisdom and provision over the coming weeks and months. Please pray that the chosen contractor can work within our budgets and that there would be financial provision to complete this project.
If you were hoping or planning to give at the Gift Day in November but weren’t able to or maybe didn’t get round to it, can I encourage you to think and pray about doing that at this time. We are stepping out in faith and would love you to journey with us.
If you feel able to give, you can give via BACS transfer or check and can contact our treasurer, Sue Hallam for details or to Gift Aid your giving (firstname.lastname@example.org)
